Ambiance -I can understand why people like this resort so much. Set in its own cove it offers a great setting for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle. It is an all suite resort.
Charges (extra) - Spa services extra but that is normal for spas. Some of the motorized water sports, fishing excursions and horseback riding is extra. Phone is extra...Buy a phone card! Please note, John Hustons and the Sets of the Night of the Iguana Restaurant are not part of the all-inclusive program. But worth at least one meal there. Distances -It is a ways away from town, approx 20 minutes. For those who want to be in town often, might not be a good choice. Entertainment on Property -Varied entertainment and activities during the day and evening. Fitness Area - This resort has its own self contained health club and spa. Great for those that want to be pampered while on vacation.
Getting Around -Not as convenient to town. If you see yourselves wanting to go into town each night, expect about a 15 minute cab ride. Internet Access-They did not have access as of yet but were working on it. Jackets and Ties -The specialty restaurants require long pants and collared shirt, no shorts and t-shirts. Make sure you tell people this so they will not be surprised. Kids -Family friendly but yet still would be good for couples and honeymooners. The kids will love the Jollamigos Club!
Medical Services-On call medical services. Negatives -Not right in town which can be a negative or positive
Opportunities -This is one of the few all-inclusive properties Pool -two beautiful pool areas, one designated as more quiet. Protection-In room safe. Recreation -Snorkeling, Hobie Cat, Kayaks, kids club, spa. Rooms -All suites, from 1 bedroom to presidential suite. For special occasions, the presidential suite is only $50 p/person p/night more. If you saw this suite, you would say it is well worth it! Shopping -small gift shop on property. Plenty of shopping downtown.
Updates -Barcelo Resorts just bought the property. They also did a multi million dollar renovation at the end of 2007. View -Gorgeous views from all of the rooms with the bay setting water and mountains Weather -Best weather starts in November through March. The best combo of weather without crowds is November and December before the Christmas rush. WOW Factor -The setting of the property in it is own cove. The all suite rooms and the fact you can get a presidential suite for only $50 p/person P/night extra. I would do it! X-Y-Z -Overall impression is this a great choice for families, couples and honeymooners. Family friendly and large all-suite rooms conducive for families.

Beach -Though not private, it is set in its own cove so it feels very private. It is a small quaint beach and guests are allowed to use the larger beach beach next to the property. I would say this is not the driving feature of this property compared to some of the more dramatic beaches that stretch for miles. Its allure is that lagoon tropical feel. 
Food - 5 restaurants but my favorite was the Sets of the night of the Iguana Restaurant. What a view of Mismaloya Bay! They offer an all-inclusive and non all-inclusive plan. 
Nightlife -If you really want nightlife, I would say go into town.
Terrain -Set on side of hill but plenty of elevators.
