Beach - Because of the way this resort sits next to its sister properties, they boast one of the largest stretches of beach in all of the Riviera Maya. It makes for a great for a stroll and taking in the view. The beach is parallel to the beautiful grounds that surround the property. Charges (extra) - Spa treatments, golf, hairdresser and motorized water sports would be extra. Distances - In the Riviera Maya south of Cancun, only 25 minutes from Cancun Airport . They offer a free shuttle to Playa del Carmen which is a great value. Entertainment on Property - Different show every evening for 7 nights in a row. Varied entertainment and activities during the day and evening.
Food - The are 6 restaurants, 5 are ala-carte of which are Gourmet, Japanese ( tepanyaki), Steak house, Mexican, Seafood and Specialty Dining,along with an International Buffet Restaurant. Here is the good part, you can dine at any of the Iberostar properties so you really have access to 15 restaurants! A word of warning for the guys. Bring at least one pair of long trousers to wear at dinner if you want to get into the ala-carte restaurants. I guess the women can wear whatever they want. Ask us about which restaurants are a "Must". Getting Around - On the property, electric carts continually circle through out the 4-hotel complex . Free Shuttle to Playa del Carmen. Leaves every hour. Internet Access -There is an hourly charge for internet access. Jackets and Ties - Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the A la Carte restaurants. Kids - Lucy´s Miniclub (ages 4-12 years) for smaller guests with a variety of activities and children´s pool. Kids will love the wave pool and the lazy river pool. Little Known Fact-Iberostar does not buy existing resorts and renovate. They take the comments and wish list from guests and implement them into their new resorts.
Negatives - No infinity pool! This is a personal preference of mine but with the wave pool and lazy river pool and a swim up bar to die for, I'll get over it. Nightlife - Not only do you have the evening entertainment you also can go to the Discotheque at the Iberostar Paraiso del Mar. Opportunities -You have special privileges and priority tee times to the golf course and can use the pool, restaurant and facilities at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach, Lindo and Del Mar. The other properties do not have the privileges to use the Maya's facilities or dine at its restaurants. Almost like staying at four properties for the price of one. Pool - WOW, if you love pools, you will enjoy this property. The wave pool is fun and you would find me floating round and round with a drink in my hand on the lazy river pool. This property shares the main pool with the Lindo but also has 3 additional private pools. Ask us how long does it take to go around the lazy river pool. Protection - In room safe at no additional charge . Recreation - Where do I begin, Aerobics, basketball, exercises, table tennis, tennis, volley ball, windsurfing, hobby cat-sailing and kayaks. Bike tour. A golf course that will challenge any level. You better bring extra golf balls, one bad shot over the green and your are in jungle. Rooms -The standard rooms (Jr. Suites) are equivalent to the upgraded rooms at the Lindo ( about 567 sq ft). All are suites with a separate sitting area, all the electronics one would want, Jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower and two sinks! The superior Jr Suites are larger (about 600 sq ft), with a larger bathroom and you even have a TV in the bathroom. They will allow a family of 5 in one room if the youngest child is an infant. They have adjoining rooms that can be requested. Shopping- They have their own shopping plaza that will have over 30 stores and 4 new restaurants. The is also plenty of shopping in Playa del Carmen.. Terrain - Very flat and spread out. This is a large complex but easy to get around with the little golf cart shuttles that can take your anywhere.
Updates-Recently, Iberostar opened its own shopping plaza with over 30 stores and 4 new restaurants View-The way the property is designed, the beautiful grounds and pool are the focal point. You do have a hike to the beach since the grounds are spread out but the beach is worth the walk. Or you can be lazy and be shuttled via golf cart. It's you vacation, you can be lazy! Weather-December through May are the driest months. September through November are the wettest months WOW Factor-This property lives up to the hype! From the amount of dining choices, the wave pool, a great beach and use of the other properties facilities, this ranks VERY high on my list. X-Y-Z-This property stands out on service. Your concierge is your friend. |

Ambiance - This is the higher end cousin of the Iberostar Paraiso Beach, Del Mar and Lindo. Catering to those that want a higher level of service. They do not believe in standing in line for check-in. You are welcomed personally and sit down while they come to you. Now that is service! Just one example of what sets this property apart from the rest.
The Maya is the only hotel of the four in this complex with elevators to the 2nd and 3rd floors. The Iberostar also has a concierge in each of the six buildings containing sleeping rooms for more personalized service. 
Fitness Area - A great fitness center next to it's sister property Iberostar Paraiso Beach.
Medical Services -On call medical services. 
Tipping-Not required but as with any service industry, if your bartender, room service attendant or concierge
really shines, they will appreciate the small gratuity since most people will not be tipping anyway. They will treat you royally.
