Beach-Because the beach is shared with the other Iberostar properties, we are talking one large and beautiful beach. Yes, it is a hike from your room through the beautiful grounds but worth it! Charges (extra) - Spa treatments, golf, hairdresser and motorized water sports would be extra.
Entertainment on Property -Varied entertainment and activities during the day and evening. Fitness Area - A great fitness center next to it's sister property Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar. Food-The are 6 restaurants, 4 are ala-carte of which are a Brazilian , Japanese, Mediterranean and of course Mexican cuisine. A word of warning for the guys. Bring at least one pair of long trousers to wear at dinner if you want to get into the ala-carte restaurants. I guess the women can wear whatever they want. Ask us about which restaurants are a "Must". Getting Around- Free Shuttle to Playa del Carmen. Leaves every hour. Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the A la Carte restaurants. Kids- Lucy´s Mini club (ages 4-12 years) for smaller guests with a variety of activities and children´s pool. Kids will love the wave pool and the lazy river pool. Little Known Fact-Iberostar does not buy existing resorts and renovate. They take the comments and wish list from guests and implement them into their new resorts. Medical Services-On call medical services. Negatives- No infinity pool! This is a personal preference of mine but with the 3 pools to die for, I'll get over it.
Opportunities-If you want to be closer to the beach, book a Junior Suite. There is not really any difference in the actually rooms but your building is closer to the beach. Pool-YOWZA, if you love pools, you will enjoy this property. I am a pool person and I can honestly say, I can find myself sitting by any of the pools with not a care in the world. Protection-In room safe. Recreation-Where do I begin, Aerobics, basketball, exercises, table tennis, tennis, volley ball, windsurfing, hobby cat-sailing and kayaks. Bike tour. A golf course that will challenge any level. You better bring extra golf balls, one bad shot over the green and your are in jungle.
Shopping- They have their own shopping plaza that will have over 30 stores and 4 new restaurants. The is also plenty of shopping in Playa del Carmen. Terrain-Very flat and spread out. This is a large complex but easy to get around with the little golf cart shuttles that can take your anywhere. Tipping-Not required but as with any service industry, if your bartender, room maid or bartender really shines, they will appreciate the small gratuity since most people will not be tipping anyway. They will treat you royally.
View-The way the property is designed, the beautiful grounds and pool are the focal point. There is a reason why we don't say ocean view or ocean front here. Trust me, I would take this over some other properties that have a ocean front view. Weather-December through May are the driest months. September through November are the wettest months WOW Factor-Iberostar consistently offers value and quality at all their resorts. I am always confident that my clients will be taken care of here. Ambiance - I have to say Iberostar has their act together. When they build a new resort, they don't mess around. Built on one the finest stretches of beaches, this and it sister resort the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar is perfect for couples and families. And now with it's higher end cousins of the Paraiso Lindo and Maya we have one heck of a resort complex. Ok, if you want small and quaint, this is not your place but in my opinion, the Iberostar's lead while the others follow.
Distances- In the Riviera Maya south of Cancun. They offer a free shuttle to Playa del Carmen which is a great value.
Internet Access -You can use their PCs and the charge is about $3.00 per 15 minutes. Or if you want to bring your laptop, they have wireless access in the lobby and the cost is about $13.00 per day.
Nightlife- Not only do you have the evening entertainment including its own Discotheque.
Rooms -Tastefully fitted rooms and Jr. Suites. Ok, I got the tastefully fitted from Iberostar. I am not sure what that means. So here is the layman's view; the rooms are great and if you want to be closer to the beach book the Jr. Suite.
