Beach - The beach is pretty typical for this area, better than closer to town. Charges (extra) - Since this is not an all-inclusive resort, all meals and services would be extra much like any resort in the United States. Distances - In the Marina area only 15 minutes from the airport and downtown. A great central location. Entertainment on Property - Nikki Beach is the hotspot here. If you have been to Miami Beach or Cabo San Lucas, you might of heard of Nikki Beach. It is a very hip restaurant / bar on the beach that has even their own lounge beds to enjoy the sunset and water. They also have music at night in the lobby lounge.
Food - Along with Nikki Beach as mentioned above they have El Palmar that serves and international cuisine. Getting Around - Taxi is the most convenient since you are so close to town. Internet Access -They have internet access in the business center and wireless access from the lobby, common areas and in rooms on the 10th floor and above. Jackets and Ties - Keep them at home!
Little Known Fact-Westin has always tried to be ahead of their time and once again trying things that others have not. When you check in you now can treat yourself to a refreshing elixir naturally flavored tea. They are also trying what they call their aroma atmosphere and playing music that is playing exactly at the same times at the other Westin's in Mexico. Medical Services -On call medical services. Negatives - Because of the way the property is designed, it is not easy to get from point A to B so people that might have trouble walking might find this resort challenging. Nightlife - Nikki Beach Club is a happening cool place and plenty of nightlife in town.
Protection - In room safe at no additional charge . Recreation - Between the beach, water sports, lighted tennis courts, running trails, pool and spa, I think you will have enough to keep you occupied. Oh yes, golf right across the street. Rooms -All the of rooms have a nice view and they are famous for their Heavenly Beds (a first in the industry). The biggest complaint I hear about resorts in Mexico is the hard beds. You will not find that here.
Spa- They are members of the Starwood Spa Collection and have excellent facilities. Terrain - Because of the unique design, not always a straight path walking from A to B. Tipping-I would say use the same rules of thumb as you would do staying at a resort in the United States. A dollar goes a long way here. View-Yes, that is my actual picture of the view from one of the rooms. I will let the picture speak for itself. Weather-Avoid August and September, monsoon season. But I have had families stay in this region during these months and they had great weather. Who knows anymore! December through April is just perfect.

Westin Kids Club - This program is available for two hours each day, activities include mini-aerobics, board games, coloring time, movie time, theater time, etc.

Ambiance -
Fitness Area - They have an excellent fitness area equipped with state of the art machines. For you runners and joggers, you have access to the 3-5 mile trail right from the resort. 
Kids - They have their well know Westin Kids Club for children 4-12 with a very spacious playground. But when the baby turtles are there, that is all the kids want to do! 
Pool - Their pools are very unique in design and one of the largest swim up pool bars. Now why do I always gravitate to those??? 
Shopping - Small gift shop on property. Plenty of shopping in Puerto Vallarta.
