Beach - The beaches up in Nuevo Vallarta are nicer in my opinion than down in Puerto Vallarta. Charges (extra) - This is what is referred to as a European Plan (EP) resort, not an all-inclusive. So any other amenities over and above room and tax would be extra. Distances - In what is called the Flamingos area that borders Nuevo Vallarta. You are about 20 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta. Some people want to be closer to town but If you do not see yourself going into town each day, the location is just fine. Entertainment on Property - This is a very quiet resort and there will be some activities but for the most part, it is a great place to enjoy the beach, pool and weather. They do have some evening entertainment. Fitness Area - They have a very nice gym and since the resort is so new, the equipment is too!
Getting Around - If you don't plan to be touring out on your own, taxis are fine. I rent a car when I am there on business but it is expensive once you add insurance and taxes plus you have to be a pretty aggressive driver. There are buses that go into town plus a water taxi that is pretty fun to take. Internet Access -They have a cyber cafe in the Palmita deli and they do charge an hourly rate. Jackets and Ties - Keep them at home, but try to avoid wearing bathing suits, shorts and tank tops in the restaurants for dinner. Kids - They have a kids club for ages 4-12 with age specific activities. They prefer if you could make reservations 24 hours in advance if you want to have your kids participate. They also have their own section of the pool for the kids. Lighting -The resort is well laid out and well lit at night. Medical Services -On call medical services.
Nightlife - They have entertainment in he courtyard in the evening. Plenty of nightlife in town. Pool - A great multi level pool overlooking the ocean. It does not get any better than this for me. Protection - In room safe at no additional charge . Recreation - They have pool and beach activities during the day, spanish lessons (more than uno cervesa por favor) and even some bartending classes. Man cannot live by cervesa alone. Rooms -This is their claim to fame. Anywhere from studio suites to 3 bedroom suites that will sleep up to 10 people. Full kitchens and place settings. The three bedroom is configured with a king bed in the main bedroom, a murphy bed in the living area and two queen beds in the connecting bedrooms. The two bedroom has the king bed, murphy bed and connecting bedroom with two queens. The one bedroom has the king bed and murphy bed. Can you see why this is great for larger families?
Spa- They offer spa services with his and hers relation areas, including a Jacuzzi, Sauna and Steam room. Terrain - This is not a large spread out property by any means. You can be on the beach from your room in minutes. Tipping-A couple of dollars a day for your maid and I would say 10%-15% for bar and restaurant servers. Updates-This is a fairly new resort. View-From what I remember I think most, if not all the rooms have an ocean view which is great. Weather-Avoid August and September, monsoon season. But I have had families stay in this region during these months and they had great weather. Who knows anymore! December through April is just perfect. WOW Factor-Accommodations that will sleep 10! Ambiance -I really like this resort for families or even couples who want more space to relax. One of the newest resorts in the Nuevo Vallarta area.
Food - Bella Vista is their signature oceanside restaurant serving California and Italian fusion cuisine. I am not sure what fusion is but a lot of places are doing it. They also have their Italian restaurant called La Trattoria open for dinner. They have a little pizza bar and deli market.
Negatives - Just as long as you know you are not 5 minutes from town this resort is fine. In fact, Nuevo Vallarta up to Punta Mita is where all the new resorts are being built, very similar to the Riviera Maya south of Cancun. Oh yes, the timeshare sharks are more prevalent at any of the Villa del Palmar properties. 
Shopping - Small gift shop on property. Plenty of shopping in Paradise Village only about a $5 taxi ride away and in Puerto Vallarta.
