Ambiance-Unlike the massive Secret Excellence this is a much smaller more quaint resort. Very eloquent as you walk into the lobby with the chandeliers and marble. It is almost like I was walking into a resort I would find in Europe versus Mexico.
Charges (extra) - Spa treatments would be extra. Distances- A great location less than half an hour from Cancun and a short taxi ride to Playa del Carmen. Entertainment on Property -If you love jazz, you will like this resort. They also have what they call their Stargazing Rock and Roll Beach Party, telescopes included! Fitness Area - They have a state of the art fitness center and a world class spa. Food- The owners are Italian so you can expect great attention to the dining experience. They have 5 restaurants of which 4 are a-la-carte serving seafood, Italian (of course), and Pan Asian cuisine. One of the few all-inclusive's where you can find a good bottle of wine. Getting Around- Taxi or car rental. Unless you are brave, I suggest leaving the driving to others. I have had to rent cars and drive while on business there and you cannot be a timid driver. Also, the Police like to pull over speeders. Not me of course.
Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the A la Carte restaurants. Kids- can you say NO! Lighting-Very pretty in the evening. Medical Services-On site medical services. Negatives- I am a pool person and I guess I was expecting more. Not everyone shares my opinion. Opportunities-Free golf at the Pok-ta-Pok Golf Course in Cancun. Now here is the kicker, you have to pay for the cart or caddie and you have to get your own ride up to Cancun. If you are not renting a car the taxi is pretty expensive.
Protection-In room safe. Recreation-Watersports, tennis, billiards, golf and more! Rooms-I did really like the rooms with the marble bathrooms and jacuzzi bathtubs. When you walk into the room you get the feeling of class. Shopping-They did have a small shopping area at the resort and plenty of shopping in Playa del Carmen and Cancun. SPA-Excellent Spa facilities which is a major focus of this resort. Terrain-Small property surrounding the pool. Updates- Refurbished after hurricane Wilma in 2005.
Weather-December through May are the driest months. September through November are the wettest. WOW Factor-The eloquent feel to the resort, not what you would expect in Mexico. X-Y-Z-This is a good choice for couples who want a smaller resort with a upscale look and feel to it.

Beach- A nice stretch of beach that actually picked up more sand from hurricane Wilma in 2005. 
Internet Access -There is an hourly charge for internet access from the business center. 
Pool- I love big gaudy pools with waterfalls and character so I would say the pool is nice but not fantastic. 
View-Great views from the rooms facing the ocean.
