Beach-The beach is recovering nicely after the erosion suffered in 2007. They have slowly recovered the sand naturally and have put in preventive measures for future erosion. Charges (extra) - Spa treatments, motorized water sports long distance and business services like internet access would be extra. One of the few resorts that still charge a couple of dollars a day for the safe in the room. Distances- In the resort community of Playacar just a 20 minute walk into Playa del Carmen. Many people like to be close to Playa for the shopping on 5th Avenue or to maybe take the 45 minute ferry across to Cozumel. Entertainment on Property -They have activities all during the day, and entertainment in their theatre in the evening. Fitness Area - Pretty basic but enough machines to work up a sweat. The surrounding area is perfect for joggers and runners to get a nice run in and feel safe and secure.
Getting Around- Great area to walk into town or if you want to take a taxi, it is only around $5.00. Internet Access -They have wi-fi from the lobby and business center at a charge. Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the Specialty restaurants.
Little Known Fact-There are two natural Cenotes (caves) running straight through the resort. Medical Services-On call medical services. Negatives-If you are looking for a large mega resort, this would not be a good fit for it is small and very quaint. And I wish they would stop charging for the room safe. Nightlife- They have entertainment in the evening and there is plenty of nightlife a short taxi ride away in Playa del Carmen. If you get a chance to walk down 5th avenue during the evening it is a whole different experience than during the day. Opportunities- They offer a private romantic dinner on the beach which if you have never done this, it is well worth it.
Protection-In room safe at and extra charge :(. Recreation- Not only do they have the non motorized water sports but with their own small marina, you have access to plenty of motorized water sports which is nice. Rooms- Their rooms are small which I was expecting for this size resort but bigger than some of the others in its category. I was pleasantly surprised. They have either a king bed or two double beds. Shopping-They have a small shop at the resort for incidentals and small gifts plus you have plenty of shopping in Playa del Carmen.
Terrain- Because of its tropical nature, there are some slopes to navigate as you traverse the property though it is small. People who have trouble walking might not do as well here. Updates-The beach is coming back! View-You are right on the ocean but the way the 18 villas are built with the lush tropical foliage, there are no ocean view rooms. Weather-Mid December through May has the best weather. September and October gets more rain. WOW Factor-I could not believe how tropical the grounds of the resort are. X-Y-Z- This is a great resort if you want small, lush and convenience to Playa del Carmen. More Pictures Click Here |

Ambiance-Tropical, lush, tropical, lush, did I say this resort was tropical and lush? I could not believe once you passed the lobby you felt like you were in another world. This small resort of just over 200 rooms exceeded my expectations.
Food- They have 5 restaurants if you count the ice cream parlor, 2 are specialty restaurants serving Italian and Mexican cuisine. There is no limit to the number of times you may eat at the specialty restaurants and reservations are required 24 hours in advance
Kids-They have a kids club for children ages 4 to 12. Babysitting is also offered.
Pool- They have 3 pools, one is the swim up bar pool where the activities are held, another is a relaxing pool and they have a wading pool for the children.
Spa- I am not a spa expert but from my perspective it was pretty basic.
