Ambiance - Don't let the bright yellow building fool you, this is a very nice resort. I am not sure who thought this color was nice but you always know when you are getting close to the Melia. Actually this is one of the better resorts in Cozumel and very family friendly.
Charges (extra) -Diving, motorized water sports, spa treatments and internet access would be extra. Distances - Only 5 minutes from San Miguel and convenient to the airport. No hour long drive to get to the resort once you arrive. Entertainment on Property - Shows and music every evening in the theatre. Fitness Area - small but adequate. Food - The are 4 restaurants, 1 is ala-carte called Cafe Paraiso. Reservations is required for this restaurant.
Internet Access -There is an hourly charge for internet access. Can use the business center's PCs. No wireless yet. Jackets and Ties -Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the A la Carte restaurant. Kids - This resort is very family friendly with the Flintstone's theme Bam Bam Club for kids from 4 to 12. I would rank this as one of the top resorts in Cozumel for being family and kid friendly. Lighting -The resort is well laid out and well lit at night. Medical Services -On call medical services. Negatives - Did I mention the yellow building? Nightlife - Theme parties at night at the property and nightlife in town. Much more lay back than Cancun though. Pool - They have two pools, one is where all the activities take place and the other is more quiet. Protection - In room safe at no additional charge. Recreation -If water sports and diving is your game, they have it. Golf is across the street. Rooms -Typical size for Cozumel. Very nice decor. Shopping - Small gift shop on property. Plenty of shopping in Playa del Carmen and San Miguel. Terrain - Very self contained and you don't feel like you have to walk miles to get from your room to the beach. Tipping-Not required but as with any service industry, if your bartender, room service attendant or concierge really shines, they will appreciate the small gratuity since most people will not be tipping anyway. Updates-Just went through a renovation and remodel from hurricane Wilma. The resort is in great shape.
Weather-December through May are the driest months. September through October are the wettest. Mid November to mid December offers the least crowds and great weather. WOW Factor-Family friendly X-Y-Z-One of the better resorts on Cozumel and families and couples alike will enjoy it. More Pictures Click Here

Each of the 150 air-conditioned rooms features a private balcony or patio, with a choice between Garden View Rooms and Ocean View Junior Suites. Property features include nightly entertainment, unlimited premium brand drinks, and a variety of sports and activities. Children under 12 years stay free when sharing a room with two full paying (Max two children, one child per each paying adult). Beach - The beach is small but still nice. If you are looking for a large stretch of beach, none of the hotels on this end of Cozumel have it. The water is beautiful though which is what Cozumel is known for. 
Getting Around - Taxis are very inexpensive to get into San Miguel and the airport. For about $50, you can hire a taxi to take you all around the island. Plenty of scooters and cars for rent.
