Beach - The beach is pretty typical for this area, better than closer to town. Charges (extra) - Since this is not an all-inclusive resort, all meals and services would be extra much like any resort in the United States. Distances - In the Marina area only 15 minutes from the airport and downtown. A great central location. Entertainment on Property - They don't have shows like many of the all inclusive resorts and people tend to gravitate to the sports bar or the lobby lounge in the evening.
Food - They have 4 restaurants, serving Japanese (Teppanyaki grills), International, and Mexican cuisine. They also have the best Sports Bar in Puerto Vallarta called Champions. I should know, the time I was here I had to watch my beloved Denver Broncos. Though not an all-inclusive, they do offer two packages, one called the Escape Inclusive plan that includes dinner and breakfast and the other is a Stay for Breakfast plan that includes breakfast only. They don't have a meal plan that includes all meals at this resort. Getting Around - Taxi is the most convenient since you are so close to town. Internet Access -They have internet access from the business center and wireless access from the rooms. Jackets and Ties - Keep them at home, but long pants and a collared shirt is encouraged for dinner. They want to avoid people coming to dinner wearing bathing suits, tank tops, etc since outsiders come here for dinner too.
Little Known Fact-The General Manager of the resort is a tequila fanatic growing their own cactuses at the property and having a distillery make the tequila under its own private brand. Medical Services -On call medical services. Negatives - I don't consider it a negative since I like to dine at the local restaurants but so many families want an all-inclusive resort that includes everything. Nightlife - If the sports bar is not your thing they have plenty of nightlife in town.
Protection - They have safety deposit boxes at the front desk. Recreation - They have lighted tennis courts, water sports, volleyball and golf is so convenient to the resort being across the street. Puerto Vallarta also offers many activities outside of the resort. Rooms -All the of rooms now have the new Marriott Revive pillow top beds. The biggest complaint I hear about resorts in Mexico is the hard beds. You will not find that here. Also, one of the few resorts that will allow a family of five in one room. Shopping - Small gift shop on property. Plenty of shopping in Puerto Vallarta.
Terrain - This is not a large spread out property by any means. You can be on the beach from your room in minutes. Tipping-I would say use the same rules of thumb as you would do staying at a resort in the United States. A dollar goes a long way here. View-Nice view of the ocean and pool area. The gardens are very pretty. Weather-Avoid August and September, monsoon season. But I have had families stay in this region during these months and they had great weather. Who knows anymore! December through April is just perfect. I always try to get there in December during the 12 days of the Guadalupe processions ending on December 12th.
X-Y-Z -I really liked this resort and for those people who want to travel to Mexico yet like the amenities that we have here in the United States, this is a great combination of everything. See more pictures: Click Here Videos of what to see and do in Puerto Vallarta Click Here |
