Beach-The widest and best beach in Waikiki. Distances- Less than 10 miles from the airport making it convenient to get to yet walking distance of everything in Waikiki. Entertainment on Property -Almost every night they hold a torch lighting ceremony which is pretty cool. Friday nights they do an Aloha Friday King's Jubilee and on Saturdays they have a Polynesian show. Fitness Area - Excellent facility part of the Mandara Spa. They also have a holistic center which is unique to the resort.
Getting Around-I would say take a transfer to the resort since you can walk to most everything. Rent a car the day(s) you want to trek around the island rather than paying the high price to park a rental car at the resort. Internet Access -There is high speed internet access. Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home! Aloha shirts are the norm. Kids-I love this resort for families. Younger kids will like the Rainbow Express Keiki Club for ages 5-12. The teens will love the pool and beach. Lighting-The resort is fantastic in the evenings with the tropical setting and lighting. Medical Services-On site medical services.
Nightlife- Plenty of nightlife in Waikiki. Opportunities-They have their own chapel if you are thinking of a destination wedding. Pool-Oh MY! They have the largest pool on the island along with 4 other pools. I am in pool heaven. Protection-In room safe and on site 24 hour security. Recreation-Water sports is king here. You also have a mini golf course and Oahu has the most Golf courses of any of the Hawaiian Islands. You can walk over to the Atlantis submarine and yes, they even have penguins at the resort. Rooms-Six distinctive towers with rooms ranging from standard rooms to two bedroom condos with full kitchens. Westin started the trend but Hilton is catching up with their version of the Heavenly Bed called the Serenity Bed. Shopping-For those shopaholics you have so many choices you could shop everyday you are there and still have more places to shop. Spa-Beautiful Spa facility at the Mandara Spa. They boast the largest spa in Waikiki.
View-Some of the best views in Waikiki and you can see some gorgeous sunsets. Weather-Rainy season is December through February with the driest months being June through September. WOW Factor-They have the most Hawaiian feel of any resort on Oahu. You will be hard pressed to find a more self contained resort destination. X-Y-Z-You know the saying this is not your father's Buick? Well this is not your father's Waikiki. The improvements they have made has turned it into a World Class destination. Ambiance-Even though I have stayed here many times I am still impressed every time I go back. This still is my favorite all encompassing resort in Waikiki. It definitely has the most tropical feel of any of the resorts and by far the largest.
Food- I love staying in Waikiki for the world class restaurants but you don't have to leave the resort with over 20 restaurants on the property. Finding good food will never be a problem. 
Negatives- For people who do not like a large resort this would not be a good fit. I like having everything at my fingertips. 
Terrain-Very easy to get around and for such a large resort, you do not feel like you have to walk a mile to bet to the beach.
