Beach-The beach is very nice and wide and they have done a great job of providing plenty of opportunity for shade along the beach for those fair skinned blokes like myself. Charges (extra) - Spa treatments, motorized water sports long distance and business services like internet access would be extra. They are a bit unusual in that a couple of the Specialty Restaurants have a surcharge like the Seafood and Asian unless you are staying in a higher room category. Distances- A great location just north of Playa del Carmen. Many people like to be close to Playa for the shopping on 5th Avenue or to maybe take the 45 minute ferry across to Cozumel. Entertainment on Property -They have activities all during the day, and entertainment in their Princess theatre in the evening. Fitness Area - Excellent state of the art fitness center and spa. Since it is brand new, they have all new equipment. They have every spa treatment you could want. Something about being covered in Chocolate in one of the treatments does not float my boat but spa lovers rave about it.
Getting Around- Taxi is the best bet for I do not suggest you renting a car unless you really know what you are doing driving in Mexico. You are so close to Playa del Carmen that it will not break the bank to go into town. Internet Access -For people staying in the Junior Suites, there is Wi-Fi access from the lobby for a charge, up to $25 for 24 hours. The Deluxe Junior Suites have access from the rooms also with a charge. The Platinum Suites have access from the rooms with no charge. Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the Specialty restaurants.
Little Known Fact-The resort is brand new and just opened in December 2007.. Medical Services-On call medical services. Negatives-Ok, ok, if large resorts turn you off, then this might not be a good fit. I tend to like the larger resorts for they offer more restaurants, pools and amenities but that is more a personal preference. Nightlife- They have entertainment in the evening and there is plenty of nightlife a short taxi ride away in Playa del Carmen. If you get a chance to walk down 5th avenue during the evening it is a whole different experience than during the day. Opportunities- The reason why I wanted to see this resort so much was their pricing for their Junior Suites is incredible for this level of resort. Since it is brand new, I think they want to attract many new guests with their pricing so the word of mouth gets out there. Take advantage if you can for I have to believe can increase their pricing to be in par with other resorts in their class.
Protection-In room safe at no extra charge. Recreation- Not sure where to start, you have tennis, basketball, volleyball, water sports both motorized and non motorized. You can take a scuba lesson in the pool or partake in the daily activities. Or you can do my favorite recreational activity by sitting by the pool with one of those fancy drinks with an umbrella in it. Rooms- Their standard rooms are Junior suites with either a king or two double beds plus a small sitting area with a sofa. They have Deluxe Junior Suites that have a more partitioned off bedroom and larger sitting area and the Platinum Suites bundle in much more amenities. More details are listed below in the "Just the Facts" section of my review. Shopping-They have a small shop at the resort for incidentals and small gifts plus you have plenty of shopping in Playa del Carmen.
Terrain-The resort is spread out but very flat so easily to navigate. Though large, you don't need little golf carts to get you around the complex like some of the other even larger resorts. Updates-Brand new! Just opened in December 2007. View-Right on the ocean but keep in mind the way the resort is built perpendicular to the ocean your views will be of the pools and courtyard areas not the ocean. Weather-Mid December through May has the best weather. September and October gets more rain. WOW Factor-The size of the resort and all of the amenities that a large resort will have like 12 pools. X-Y-Z-Right now, you will be hard pressed to find a resort with all the amenities for the price point. I think most people will enjoy their stay here. More Pictures Click Here
