Beach- Open and airy is the best way to describe the beach area. One of the few resorts where you can get a true Ocean Front room. Charges (extra) - Spa treatments would be extra. Distances- In the Riviera Maya south of Cancun. It is only 25 minutes from the airport making it convenient to get to the hotel zone in Cancun and Playa del Carmen.
Fitness Area - A great fitness center that actually has a sauna. Not that you need that to work up a sweat. Excellent Spa facilities. Food- 10 restaurants of which 7 are A-la-Carte for dinner, with Pan Asian, Italian, Mexican and International cuisine and a Caribbean Bistro and Seaside Grill. It is great to have so many A la Carte choices at an All-Inclusive. Also they have a martini bar to die for! Reservations are required for dinner at the A-la-Carte restaurants but there is no limitation to the number of times you can dine at any of them which is really nice.
Internet Access -There is an hourly charge for internet access. Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the A la Carte restaurants. Kids- can you say NO! Little Known fact-The resort is owned by a local couple who have a passion for food and taking care of their guests.
Negatives- Well if you want to bring the little ones this resort might not be the best choice. Also, I wish there was a better way of protecting the beach other than the large sand bags (referred to as whales) about 50 feet offshore. It takes a bit away from the beauty of the ocean but keeps the beach in great condition. Opportunities-They offer a free wedding with a seven night Casita stay. Pool- The claim to fame here is the swim up Casita Suites. I am a pool person and there is nothing better than swimming up to my Casita Suite and I am right there at my room. Yes you have to share the main pool and the swim up bar pool but that's ok.
Recreation-Aerobics, salsa lessons, exercises, table tennis, tennis, volley ball, and kayaks. Scuba clinic in the pool and the list goes on. Rooms-Hot tubs and Hammocks” is how they like to promote their rooms and atmosphere at El Dorado Royale. If you can take advantage of it get the swim up Casita Suite. Can you get the sense I like these? Shopping-Small gift shop on property with more shopping in Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Terrain-Very large and spread out resort. They also have little golf carts that will take you around too. Updates-They just opened up their new Swim up Infinity Pool Casita Suites and Infinity Pool Casita Suites.
Weather-December through May are the driest months. September through November are the wettest months with June getting more rainfall than July. WOW Factor-Adults only, the swim up Casita Suites and the dining are what makes this resort great for couples and honeymooners. X-Y-Z-This and its sister property the El Dorado Seaside Suites makes it perfect for couples! I met the owners and they are sticklers when it comes to attention to their guests needs. Or if you prefer, you can participate in any or all of the activities that are available from eight o' clock in the morning until the evening hours.

Ambiance-Romance is the word for this couples only resort. one of the few adults only resorts in all of the Riviera Maya. Recently voted one of the Conde Nast Traveler's top 100 Hotels in the world. Also, this is one of the few all-inclusive's that I can honestly say has excellent food and dining. They want to be known as a gourmet Inclusive in all aspects, from dining to the level of service.
Entertainment on Property -While relaxation is the norm, the resort offers daily activities for its guests. Sitting in the jacuzzi or having my own swim up pool to a Casita Suite is about all the activity I need! 
Getting Around- Taxi or car rental.
There is a shuttle that goes into Playa del Carmen at 6pm and returns at 10pm, you just have to make the reservation with their concierge on site. There is also the one that goes into Cancun at noon and back at 5pm.
Medical Services-On call medical services.
