Beach - The beach is pretty typical of what you will find in the heart of Acapulco. Lot's of activity and sun seekers. But you don't stay here to get away from it all. Charges (extra) - Since this is not an all-inclusive resort, all meals and services would be extra much like any resort in the United States.
Entertainment on Property - They were auditioning a band when I was there, the original band had been there like 20 years. Time for a change I say. The Mexican restaurant also has entertainment in the evening. Fitness Area - They have an adults only health club on the third floor which is nice to escape the crowds. The have their own pools, steam baths, whirlpools and sauna. Unfortunately there is an extra fee. Food - They have 4 restaurants serving Mexican, International and Italian cuisine. The 4th restaurant is called Nude at the Beach. My rep said she always gets that quizzical look but the dress code is not what you might think. Just a catchy name I guess.
Internet Access -They have internet access from the business center and the rooms. Jackets and Ties - Keep them at home, but long pants and a collared shirt are always suggested for dinner. People tend to dress up more for dinner in Acapulco. Kids - You will find children's activities here and babysitting services. I am not sure this would be my first choice for kids. Little Known Fact-This is the landmark hotel in Acapulco due to its unique design.
Negatives -A bit dated and worn but was advised they are going through a major renovation. Nightlife -Acapulco is known for its nightlife. Things don't really get started until midnight and go until 5am. I on the other hand am sleeping by midnight and awake by 5am. Pool -They have 6 pools, one that looks like a river like lagoon. Protection - Electronic safety deposit boxes in each room.
Rooms -Modest size rooms that will be going through a refurbishment. The views from the upper floors are fantastic even those facing the city. You should request rooms in the 25 and 26 series for the best views. Shopping - The were tons of small gift shops in front and within the resort. You also have a lot of shopping opportunities within walking distance of the hotel. You will not go home empty handed if shopping is important.
Terrain - This is a typical high rise resort so easy to navigate and you do not have to walk far to get from your room to the beach. Tipping-I would say use the same rules of thumb as you would do staying at a resort in the United States. A dollar goes a long way here. View-The views from the higher floors are wonderful. You will see some of the best sunsets in Acapulco.
WOW Factor-I think convenience is the big draw here. You are so close to everything. X-Y-Z -A good choice if you are looking for decent pricing, and a great location. I will be very curious to see what they have done to the resort after the refurbishment. |

Ambiance -In the heart of Acapulco Bay, this resort has a good mix of business travelers attending conferences and leisure travelers wanting to be in a great location. The lobby when you first enter seemed somewhat sterile so I was not expecting much but after seeing the whole property, I felt much better. It still amazes me how we can get an impression the minute we walk into a resort, right or wrong. 
Distances - You are right in the middle of everything so very convenient to shopping, nightlife, restaurants and the beach. 
Getting Around - Taxi is the most convenient since you are in the heart of town. 
Medical Services -On call medical services. 
Recreation - They have 4 clay tennis courts and the health club. Water sports are available.
Spa- They do offer spa and beauty shop services.
Weather-June through October is rainy season but more of the rain comes overnight. Acapulco boasts over 330 days of sunshine. November through April are the nicest months of the year
