Beach -The beach is smaller compared to other resorts and somewhat protected by a cove. Charges (extra) - Spa treatments, business services and internet would be extra. Distances- In Puerto Aventuras about 20 minutes south of Playa del Carmen. Puerto Aventuras is a nice little self contained resort area and marina. Entertainment on Property -Varied entertainment and activities during the day and evening. Fitness Area - Brand new fitness area so all of the equipment is new. Nothing better than torturing yourself on new equipment.
Getting Around- Taxi is the best way to get around. I would not suggest renting a car unless you really know what you are doing. I have rented a few times and still get white knuckled. Internet Access -They are putting wi-fi access in the suites and lobby. Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the Specialty restaurants. Kids - They have a nice kids club for children ages 4 to 12 with age appropriate activities like arts and crafts, games, outdoor activities and even a mini disco.
Medical Services-On call medical services. Negatives- The beach not being a long stretch of beach might turn some people off but for those pool people like me, this is not that big a deal. Nightlife- They have their own theatre for shows and plenty of nightlife in Playa del Carmen. Opportunities-This is one of the better priced all-inclusive's so if you can take advantage of it. Pool- They have 5 pools of which 3 overlook the ocean. There is one pool that they hold all the daily poolside activities.
Recreation- Because the beach is protected you have more opportunities to use the non motorized water sports like hobie cats, snorkeling, paddle boats and windsurfing. They also have two tennis courts, basketball, volleyball and free bicycles for guest to use. Rooms - The Riviera side has Standard, Deluxe and Suites where the Yucatan side only has Standard Rooms. The Deluxe rooms have a bit more amenities in the room. They also are one of the few all-inclusive resorts that will guarantee connecting rooms in what they call their Family Room category. The first room will have a king bed and the 2nd room will have two dbl beds. Shopping- Small gift shop on property. Plenty of shopping in Playa del Carmen. Spa - Along with the fitness center, the spa is brand new too. They have all your normal treatments.
Updates-Fitness center and Spa are brand new. View-Right on the ocean but due to the way the resort is designed most of the rooms would be pool and garden views. They have a few superior ocean front rooms. Weather-December through May are the best months for weather. The wettest months are late September through early November WOW Factor-Allowing a family of 6 in their family room category. X-Y-Z-I liked this resort and think you get good value for the dollar. Ambiance - I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this resort. The grounds are beautiful and it has a nice friendly feel to it. I guess since it always prices so competitively I was not expecting as much.
Food- They have 7 restaurants which 4 are specialty restaurants, featuring a Grill, Japanese, Italian and Mexican cuisine. There are some restrictions at the number of times you can eat at a specialty restaurant. For example for a 7 night stay, you may have dinner at all 4 but only once at each per stay. They will make exceptions especially during low season. Make your reservations as soon as you arrive at the resort.
Little Known Fact - They are one of the few all inclusive resorts that will allow a family of 6 in one room which is very very unusual. 
Protection- In room safe. 
Terrain- Not an overly large resort to easy to get around and not feel you are walking forever to get from A to B.
