Beach-One of the better stretches of beach on the Riviera Maya. I think they said it was about 1500 feet of beach which makes it nice for people that want a nice beach. Charges (extra) - Spa treatments, long distance and business services. Distances- In the Riviera Maya very close to Playa del Carmen about 35-40 minutes from the airport.
Fitness Area - A brand new fitness center with state of the art equipment. Very nice facility. Food- The have 4 restaurants here serving Italian, Mexican and French cuisine. In the French restaurant they do show cooking. I see more and more resorts going with this concept. They also have an international buffet restaurant with a different theme each evening. Getting Around- Taxi would be the most convenient to get around. I do not suggest renting a car unless you really know your way around driving in Mexico. Internet Access -Right now they have Wi-Fi access from the lobby but plan on have internet access from all the rooms by December 2007.
Kids-One of the few all-inclusive's that will take a two year old, most start at age three. Their kids club is for ages 2-12. The kids club is open from 9am to 11pm with a break between 5 and 7pm. Most kids clubs are not open this late so this allows some time for the parents to have some alone time in the evening. Babysitting runs about $20.00 p/hour. Activities include a nursery, mini-cafeteria, play station room, playground, and sports activities. Little Known Fact- This resort is not associated with the other two Blue Bay resorts in Cancun. Blue Bay in this case is the management company and have really put a lot of money into this resort. Medical Services-On call medical services. Negatives-Until the end of the year, construction has been the only negative. Part of the plan was to add about 800 new rooms with more amenities. Everything is planned for completion the end of 2007 in time for high season.
Opportunities-I you get an opportunity to book one of the Junior suites with the swim up pool. Pool-Two main pools with one have a swim up bar and the other more for families with children. Plus the swim up pools for some of the Junior Suites. Protection-In room safe. Recreation-Plenty of activities during the day including 2 tennis courts , Ping-Pong, Volleyball, a jogging trail, water sports center (Windsurf, kayaking, sailing, hobie cats, diving,) motorboats, aerobics, and a gaming room.
Shopping-Small shops at the resort and plenty of shopping in Playa del Carmen. Spa-The spa will be brand new in December 2007 with your typical massages, manicures, facials etc. Terrain-A good size resort, not too big, not too small. They did a good job of mixing in the landscaping with the natural mangroves. Updates-This is a brand new resort. View-Right on the ocean, with pool and ocean views.
WOW Factor-The newness of the resort and the bedding. Oh, the swim-up Junior Suites are not to shabby either. X-Y-Z-I was very impressed with this resort. I tend to like newer places and this has the right combination of size and amenities. Click here for more pictures of the resort. |

Ambiance-I have been wanting to see this resort since Blue Bay took it over. I have to say it exceeded my expectations. I did not realize that they had rooms that had swim up pools and jacuzzis on the balcony. By December 2007, they will have up to 1000 rooms, a new spa and new theatre. 
Entertainment on Property -The animation staff has activities for guests during the day and then provide entertainment in the evening. Once the new theatre is complete, the evening entertainment should even be better.
Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the A la Carte restaurants.
Nightlife- They have shows in the evening and you are not too far away from Playa del Carmen with the bars and nightlife there. 
Rooms-Since this is a brand new resort the rooms are really nice especially the Junior Suites. They are one of the few all-inclusive resorts in Mexico that "Get It" when it comes to the bedding and the soft mattresses. That is one of the biggest complaints for many resorts in Mexico about the hard beds so I am glad to see them putting money into the nicer beds.
Weather-Mid December through May has the best weather. September and October gets more rain.
