Beach-Since the beach was restored from hurricane Wilma, it looks better than ever. Charges (extra) - Spa treatments would be extra. Distances- Closer to the southern end of hotel zone. Right across the street from Plaza Kukulcan and close to the new La Isla Shopping Village Entertainment on Property -Varied entertainment and activities during the day and evening. Fitness Area - Small fitness area. They also have one tennis court.
Getting Around- Close to everything and the bus is a bargain if you do not want to take a taxi. Internet Access -Limited internet access from the lobby, no wireless from the rooms yet Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the A la Carte restaurants. Kids-I would say this is more for couples and families with a bit older children or teens. They do not have a formal kids club for young kids. Lighting-Well lit at night. Medical Services-On call medical services.
Nightlife- This is Cancun, need I say more. Opportunities-Take advantage of the lower prices. Since they refurbished, they really could charge more. Pool-Three pools, small but great views of the ocean. Protection-In room safe. Recreation-You are so close to golf, shopping, nightlife and day tours to the Mayan ruins and ecological parks. Rooms-Compared to what they used to look like, what a difference. This impressed me the most about the resort. Shopping-Shopping, shopping , shopping, you can shop until you drop, the stores are so close.
Updates-Almost like brand new after the repairs and refurbishments from hurricane Wilma. View-Right on the ocean, fantastic views. Weather-Mid December through May has the best weather. September and October gets more rain. WOW Factor-The rooms! I had low expectations when I visited and they all were exceeded. X-Y-Z-As mentioned before, probably one of the best values for the dollar since you are getting a value priced resort that looks brand new. Take advantage before they raise their prices. Ambiance-If you want a fun, great value resort right on the beach, this is the place. Since they refurbished the hotel, this is one of the best kept secrets in Cancun. 
Food- 5 restaurants of which 2 are A la Carte for dinner, with Seafood and Mexican cuisine. 
Negatives- Not all the rooms have balconies. They still charge for the use of the safe in the room. 
Terrain-Sits on a bit of a hill to walk up from the main street.
