Ambiance-As with all the Palace resorts, this is a class act. If you are really into being active and spa treatments, you will be hard pressed to find better spa facilities than here. This is also one of their few adults only resorts.
Beach-More like a small cove than a long stretch of beach.
Charges (extra) - Spa treatments would be extra.
Distances- South of Playa del Carmen closer to Puerto Aventuras.
Entertainment on Property -Varied entertainment and activities during the day and evening. Since this is adults only, the entertainment at night is a tad more adult themed.
Fitness Area - Since spa and fitness is the theme here, you will be very impressed with the state of the art fitness equipment.
Food- I like variety and you will get it here with 7, yes 7 restaurants serving Mediterranean, Oriental California (what is California cuisine anyway?) Italian , International and Argentinean cuisine.
Getting Around- Taxi is your best bet but they also have scheduled transportation to Playacar Plaza (Playa del Carmen), Moon Palace, Wet and Wild and Cancun.
Internet Access -They now offer wireless internet access which is new from when I was here last.
Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home, but bring slacks and polo shirt for dinner in the A la Carte restaurants.
Kids-Keep the little ones at home, this is an adults only resort.
Little Known Fact.- When you stay 6 nights or longer at a Palace resort, they include some offsite day tours in their price.
Medical Services-On call medical services.
Negatives- I would say the only negative is the small cove like beach. I am more a pool person so this does not bother me at all.
Nightlife- They have shows in the evening and there is more nightlife in Playa del Carmen and of course Cancun.
Opportunities-Take advantage of the free day tours!
Pool-Oh my goodness, forget the beach. They have 2 outdoor pools with swim-up bars, outdoor jacuzzis, a lap pool, and indoor pool and frew frew waterfalls. I am in pool heaven.
Protection-In room safe.
Recreation-If you are into being active this is the place. They have a 100 ft climbing tower, 14 obstacle fitness trail, tennis courts, bicycles and more. Is it ok to do all these activities and end up at the swim-up pool bar?
Rooms-As with all the Palace resorts, very sleek and nicely decorated. Plus, each room has its own double jacuzzi.
Shopping-A small shopping area at the resort and plenty of shopping in Playa del Carmen.
Terrain-Larger than some of the other Palace Resorts but easy to get around. The north section is more where the spa facilities are and the south section is where they have all the activities.
Updates-They went through a major refurbishment at the end of 2005 and looking pretty darn good.
View-Right on the ocean, fantastic views.
Weather-Mid December through May has the best weather. September and October gets more rain.
WOW Factor-If you are into being active, this is what impresses most about this resort.
X-Y-Z-A great adults only resort that allows guests to be as active as they want or if you are like me, I the most activity I want is getting up from my pool chair and swimming to the pool bar.
