Ambiance -This is a good choice for those that want a fairly inexpensive all-inclusive. A smaller resort with a tropical feel to it.
Beach - The beaches up in Nuevo Vallarta are nicer in my opinion than down in Puerto Vallarta.
Charges (extra) - Spa treatments, motorized water sports, hairdresser and internet access would be extra.
Distances - Nuevo Vallarta is about 20 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta. Some people want to be closer to town but If you do not see yourself going into town each day, the location is just fine.
Entertainment on Property -
They have activities at the resort during the day, nightly entertainment and a weekly managers cocktail party.
Fitness Area - They have a small but adequate fitness room.
Food - They have three restaurants, two that are a-la-carte serving Mexican and Italian cuisine. You may make reservations 1 day prior at the a-la-carte restaurants.
Getting Around - If you don't plan to be touring out on your own, taxis are fine. I rent a car when I am there on business but it is expensive once you add insurance and taxes plus you have to be a pretty aggressive driver. There are buses that go into town plus a water taxi that is pretty fun to take.
Internet Access -They have a small business center with limited internet access.
Jackets and Ties - Keep them at home, long pants, like dockers and a collared shirt are required for the men at the a-la-carte restaurants for dinner.
Kids - They have a kids club for ages 4-12 with age specific activities. They have a kids pool too.
Lighting -Very pretty in the evening.
Medical Services -24 hours on call medical services.
Negatives - Just as long as you know you are not 5 minutes from town this resort is fine. In fact, Nuevo Vallarta up to Punta Mita is where all the new resorts are being built, very similar to the Riviera Maya south of Cancun. The rooms are on the smaller side too.
Nightlife - Nightly local entertainment and plenty of nightlife in town.
Pool - A small adults pool and children's pool.
Protection - In room safe
at no additional charge
.
Recreation - They two tennis courts , plenty of non-motorized water sports, scuba classes in the pool, and nearby golf.
Rooms -The rooms tend to be smaller at the Allegros but that is another reason why they price so well. If the room is not the main focus you will be fine.
Shopping - Small gift shop on property. Plenty of shopping in Paradise Village only about a $5 taxi ride away and in Puerto Vallarta.
Spa- They offer spa services but I would not say they have a full fledge Spa.
Terrain - This is not a large spread out property by any means. You can be on the beach from your room in minutes.
Tipping-A couple of dollars a day for your maid and I would say 10%-15% for bar and restaurant servers.
View-They do have what are called Superior Oceanview rooms that have very nice views.
Weather-Avoid August and September, monsoon season. But I have had families stay in this region during these months and they had great weather. Who knows anymore! December through April is just perfect.
WOW Factor-The price point is what attracts people to this resort.
X-Y-Z - I would say this is a good 3.5 star property, nothing fancy but good value.
